There was poppin, the wave, flarin, the 1990 and the list goes on and on.  Break dancing was also big with the "gangs"  it was a good "non-violent" way to battle other gangs in the 1980s.  Too bad it didn't continue as a way of non violent interaction between gangs.  It was better to out "pop" someone than to pop some one off!
